Kellie Parker

As the Online Community Manager for PCWorld.com and Macworld.com, Kellie Parker is responsible for setting the community-building strategies, managing the relationships with community software vendors, and interacting with the community members on both sites. She also manages all member created content on both sites, including blogs and blog comments, product reviews, and wiki knowledge base. She is responsible for all interactive features of both sites, including polls and user contests. She manages the PC World “Letters to the Editor” inbox and edits the “PCW Forum” section of PC World magazine each month. In addition, she writes a community-focused column on PC World, writes an IDG-internal blog focused on community and social networking, and contributes to the Today @ PC World blog on social networking and user generated content news. 

Prior to joining PC World & Macworld, Kellie was a Senior Producer & Online Community Manager with LiveWorld, Inc for 7 years. At LiveWorld, she built and managed some of the web’s largest branded communities, including HBO, A&E, History Channel, QVC and Discovery Channel.

Kellie holds an MBA in Marketing (with Graduate Honors) from Regis University.

Charlene Li - Vice President, Principal Analyst

Charlene primarily contributes to Forrester’s offerings for the Interactive Marketing professional. She is one of the driving forces behind Forrester’s Social Computing and Web 2.0 research, and examines how companies can use technologies like blogs, social networking, RSS, tagging, and widgets for marketing purposes. During her eight years at Forrester, Charlene has also led the marketing and media research team, and ran the San Francisco office.

In her research, Charlene covers such marketing-related topics as consumer portals, search, and media site design. She also leverages her background in newspaper publishing and looks at online local media and online classifieds. In the past, she has also written about online advertising, online gaming, and media content strategies. She also contributes to her Groundswell blog and plans to publish a book by the same name in spring 2008.
Charlene was publisher of interactive media for Community Newspaper Company, a group of newspapers in Massachusetts, where she started its award-winning Town Online Web site. In addition, Charlene served on the board of directors for the Newspaper Association of America’s New Media Federation. Before working for Community Newspaper, Charlene was at the San Jose Mercury News, where she managed new product development. This included creating new advertising products and a consumer electronics show.

Charlene is one of Forrester’s most quoted analysts and has appeared in outlets like The NewsHour With Jim Lehrer, CNN, NPR, and BBC, as well as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and BusinessWeek. She is also an accomplished and frequently requested public speaker, and has appeared at Web 2.0 Expo, Ad:Tech, Search Engine Strategies, and AlwaysOn. She has delivered keynote speeches at many events, including Forrester’s Consumer Forum and Television Forum.
A former strategy consultant for Monitor Company, Charlene is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University and holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Charlene enjoys being with her family, dreaming about exotic travel, doing logic puzzles, playing video games with her kids, cooking, and needle crafts. She has been known to dabble in triathlons.

Jenny Ambrozek - Founder, SageNet LLC

Jenny Ambrozek is Founder of SageNet LLC, a consulting practice helping

businesses create value by understanding and operating their organizations as networks, and putting collaborative tools to work to connect intelligence in, across and beyond their walls.

Her work in online interaction began in the mid 1980s with Edutel, an Australian Caption Center supported educational content service delivered on Prestel standard Videotex. Jenny authored The Edutel Book: A Guide to Videotex in Education. Coming to the United States in the 1980’s, Jenny joined PRODIGY, the pioneering online service where she served as Director, Community Development.

In eight years at PRODIGY, she brought together a wide range of interactive components in content areas ranging from entertainment to technology to parenting, and learned firsthand about the importance of day-to-day operating practices to minimize the cost of supporting customer engagement.

Since 1996 Jenny has helped clients in publishing, learning, and commerce implement successful online network and collaboration efforts. With Joe Cothrel she conducted the //Online Communities in Business 2004// study and contributed to the communities of practice organizational network survey instrument for the //Network Roundtable//, University of Virginia. Her most recent article co-authored with Victoria Axelrod and Kiki Mulliner is “Learning through participation and connecting intelligence: experimenting with a wiki to co-create an article”. Jenny is a co-founder and author of the //21st Century Organization// blog and provides her participatory media expertise to the University of Warwick //Knowledge Innovation Network//.

Rafael Laguna - CEO, Open-Exchange

Laguna, born 1964, was co-founder of Open-Xchange Inc. and chairman of the board until he took over responsibility as CEO in January 2008. In 2001, Laguna initiated the technology partnership between Open-Xchange’s development team and SUSE Linux — today a Novell business. The result of this partnership, SUSE Linux Openexchange Server, became the best selling Linux-based groupware solution. Most recently, Laguna was crucial to the extention of Open-Xchange’s product portfolio and formed the partnership with the world’s largest web host by known servers, 1&1 Internet AG.

Laguna began his career in 1985 at dicomputer. In 1989 he joined Micado, which made software products for object-oriented development, as general manager and associate. Before selling the profitable company to PMSC in 1995, he grew the company from 20 to 100 employees and to € 15m turnover. Later he worked as a business angel and consultant of software technology for several Venture Capital Funds. From 2002 to 2004, Laguna was crucial to the investment and the successful sale of SUSE Linux to Novell. From 2003 to 2006, he managed as chairman the turnaround of bäurer AG until its acquisition by Sage. Laguna acts as board member for asknet AG and comparis.ch.

Kevin Lynch - Chief Technology Officer, Adobe

Lynch joined Adobe as part of the company’s 2005 acquisition of Macromedia. As Adobe’s senior vice president and chief software architect, he has led the Platform Business Unit, which is focused on advancing the company’s software platform for the creation and delivery of engaging applications and content to any desktop or device. Lynch has also overseen Adobe’s developer relations, including the integration of customers and partners in the development process through Adobe Labs and customer advisory councils.

While at Macromedia, Lynch served in a variety of roles including chief software architect and president of products. Lynch led the initial development of Macromedia® Dreamweaver®, a leading Web development product, and led the transformation of Flash Player from primarily animations to a rich Internet application and dynamic media runtime, which now reaches over 98 percent of computers worldwide across the Web. Prior to Macromedia, Lynch worked at three startups including General Magic and Frame Technology.

Lynch holds three patents with others currently pending, and he is involved in Adobe’s international standards efforts with organizations such as the W3C, ECMA and ISO. Lynch studied interactive computer graphics at the University of Illinois, working with artists and engineers in the Electronic Visualization Laboratory.

Prior to Jive Software, Sam was the Senior Vice President in charge of the global Microsoft Office marketing efforts at McCann Erickson–including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Sharepoint Server, Live Meeting and Live Communication Server. Luis’s previous experience includes being Chief Solutions Architect at Epicentric® which was acquired by Vignette® where he served as Principal Sales Engineer. Most recently, Luis was the Business Development SE at Systinet® (now Mercury™).

Prior to Clarizen, worked at an early stage software company called Collanos, initially as the Director of Product Management and later as their Community Director. Over the last 10 years have been focusing on product management activities, representing the customer/user at internet start-ups and large software companies.

Brian grew up in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, prior to returning to the United States to attend university. He holds a degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina.
